Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Haven't had much luck so far, alright....none is more like it.
Been rifling with Beetle Spins and micro crank baits, mostly.
But there has also been way too much spring activity around the house to get in much fishing.
I see some nice catches around here, though.

Know the feeling.  Work, weather and general lack of time has kept me from even getting to the local pond.  Got a new Tenkara rod over a month ago and still haven't been able to get out and give it a try. Seems the older I get the less time I have to enjoy rec time.  I "hope" to get out next week and hit something "hope"

The crazy thing is this: last year I moved close to a really big lake so I'd have more opportunities to fish.
this year a little money came my way, so I've been building stuff and doing some fix UPS.

most of the heavy stuff is done now, but there are still a few things to do.
and like you I'm not ready to retire yet, so I go to the job all week long.
It'll get better soon, though. My plan is to get a majority of projects done this year.... So I can be done as you ever are.
But them dang catfish and shellcrackers keep calling....
UPDATE... caught the first today. A little green trout about 1.5-2lbs., out of the neighbors small pond.
Used a red worm from my bin as bait.
"green trout" is another name for Ol' Bucket Mouth, aka, large mouth bass.

i'm with you, 2013 has been slow...water levels up and down...tempratures way up and down.  Little or no weed growth to bring them up from the bottom.  I did have a great Sunday morning last week..two days of 60 degrees relativly warm night and slow rolling a crappie slider black with a chartruese tail on a blackmore 1/16th head white...15 "green trout" up to 2.5 pounds

That was a good time Bill,,,,I find those 2 to 3 pound bass fight harder than some of their larger siblings....

Love the crappie slider grub, myself.
Caught a hunch of fish on em last year.
