Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Bruce is gonna love this!

So here we sit. Its fri. night and our fishin buddy just called and said he can't make it. You have made the calls to those few that you trust and none can go so all thats left is go alone or drag the ole lady out. Me personaly deep down I hate to admit I love it when she goes. Ive gotta get the fish off, shes complainin about the bugs, why aren't we catchin fish, I shoulda brought a book she says. Some don't bait crickets, Some don't touch worms......... How did you get her to bait her own hook? How did you get her to take her own fish off the hook when she caught it? And if she did how do you tell her when and where not to fish, what to use because..... lets call it beginners luck.... SHES OUTFISHIN YOU! Shes catchin bass instead of crappie, Catfish instead of bream but regardless shes catchin fish. What I wanna know is how do you get her up at 4 am and tell her quit puttin her makup on its time to go. How do Yall get her to bait her own hook? Take her own fish off? Help clean the catch? And at the same time cut the tatters and get the fixins ready while cleanin the house and takin care of the youngens at the end of the day.

Thank God for good Women!

One of the proudest moments of my life came last year when my two daughters got bored at the family reunion, then went to a local pond and fabricated their own fishing rods out of sticks. They found some old line and hooks, and proceeded to catch at least 50 green sunfish--some of which made it home to my B-I-L's garden pond at home.

I guess that makes me a success at fatherhood.
DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
hey i think your dating my girl from the sound of it.LOL
Bottom line to all of this...

If you've got a spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend that you can go fishing with, there's nothing better than sharing an evening staring at a beautiful fishing pond, or at each other's eyes.

My wife if my best friend. We don't fish together all of the time, but when we do it's usually my most memorable trip of the year.
We know that Bruce knows Santas watching! CHA-CHING!!! 2 points for BRUCE!
I love taking my wife fishing! Mostly because she my best friend. If she weren't, I'd hate her! She ALAWAYS catches the biggest fish! EVERY FREAKIN TIME!

She won't take catfish off the hook and a deep set on anything else gets a call for me to "do my job" every time too. But that's Ok, because of one fishing adventure with my, fortunately, ex-wife. She always refused to remove any fish and I tried to break her of that bad habit. She had barely lipped a little 6 inch bullhead and wanted it off quick because the fish were biting everything. I figured if I simply refused and walked out of her sight, she would be forced to take out the hook herself to get back in the action. Well, I walked on down the stream about a quarter mile, caught and released 2 ten pound plus Channels, loads of nice gills, and about 20, big crappie. After about an hour, I had gotten back to where I'd left her, sitting on a big log, and all that was left of that nasty little bullhaed was a jaw! She was determined not to touch the fish and even though it was barely hooked, she had gotten a stick and poked and prooded at that fish so long there was nothing left BUT the lips.

Since then I have resigned myself to forever being the official wife-fish-remover. My four daughters however can out fish, out clean, and outlast most anyone with a rod! They remove any fish they catch. When I first took them fishing, I thought it would be funny to see them say EWWW, and told them they had to kiss the first fish they caught--RIGHT!!!---They kiss EVERY fish they catch still today!
Speaking of Kissing there first fish and still kissin em. I did the same with my son.Photobucket
that must be the daddy thing to do.....my hubby does it to our little ones too.... cute!!
Just thought I'd bump this up for some of the newbies to get in on this discussion if they want!!!
I figured with all the newer members....I'd bump this post back up so we can get some more input.....any men or women wanna join in????
Amen brothers AND sisters ! Thank GOD for good women. My Lisa is my favorite fishin' partner. Although she has too much good sense as to wade icy water after steelhead or stand on frozen water drilling holes. She ain't walking miles of mountain runs after 10" brookies. But tell her your loading the Jon boat to go after bluegills, and its on ! Having to put bait on, or untangle the line is a small price to pay to share the day with the most wonderous person I know. My wife is among the very few women folk who regularly go to camp(outhouse). Our first few yrs together she got long underwear and such for various holiday gifts. She can't say she didin't see it coming ! Praise the women, suffer the children, and bend over to pet the dogs... steve b
any newbies wanna give their 2 cents? I just love to see what you guys have to say!!!
