Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Has anyone used a real or artificial salmon egg to tip small jigs or flies?

I have been wondering - has anyone used the salmon egg for a tip to small jigs or artificials? They seem handy and small enough and bright enough to tempt. What are the "go-to" tipping attractions for small jigs after the ice-out? ( I used "Gulp" waxies in natural last year, but they seem to have discontinued that color).

There are several rivers I fish for trout that have bluegills. One of the best baits for the trout are salmon or steelhead eggs. I have never hooked a bluegill on the eggs, but when I switch to wax worms I catch them. While I have been surprised how well "Gulp" works, in my experience it pales when compared to the real thing.
thanks ! There are so many other items to try, but that's the fun of it.
I've used what "they" call crappie bites. Pink seems to be what the gills want most. Seem to be pretty good.
thanks ! There are so many other items to try, but that's the fun of it. I've tried crappie bites, but the times I've tried them they didn't coax a bite. However, crappie candy, gulp earthworms, Exude mini-grubs, power bair min grubs, powerbait /gulp larave or waxies, have all worked well. . . tied the gulp alive firsh fry ( with ieces broken off) also worked well.

I will try the bites again, . . .
