Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hey everyone, I started fly fishing last year, and this year I would love to catch some crappie. Anyone have any tips or great crappie flies they would be willing to share?

I just got started last year. I made the rubber legged dragon and a cap spider to catch them, that's what I was told to use they both are slow sinking flies.

Hi Bryce, welcome to the adiction called Fly Fishing. My favorate crappie fly is a #4 Clouser Minnow. I tie them with a white belly ,chartruse mid body with black on top. t seems to work better with a head made with red thread. Use bead chain for eyes not lead eyes ,this alows you to fish it in the middle of the water column.as crappies are not bottom feeders and prefer minnows as their main diet.Don't forget thered head, and good luck.

They have a great selection of flies for specks. I have had luck with the northfork nymp (electric blue) as well as on their bluegill and crappie bully spiders. Hares ear nymphs do wonders as well. If you tie, look up curtis fry
On youtube. His meta-crappie pattern is deadly. Tight Lines!

Bryce, My favorite CRAPPY Fly is actually a trout streamer!!!!!! http://bigbluegill.com/photo/albums/spark-bug-step-x-step
