Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I've been wondering this for a long time and have not found an answer, but does that type of handle serve any purpose?

Thank you- your part about the text not conveying emotion is right on- I was good with everything and trying to be helpful, but text can be taken several ways - no offense taken and I surely hope that my post was taken lightly in the same manner.

When I write, it is highly functional and yet I joke too so both worlds collide in my posts.

I hope that people enjoy my content and at times, I see members correcting me so there is a reaction to the check-downs and then that seems to generate extra posts.

I do love BBG and appreciate the diversity.

I teach fishing and often people don't understand where I am coming from - I am good with that. I hope this is all good and that intent of my posts are always pleasant.

When the details of my content just added get discussed or corrected as it may be, it is very hard for me to just let it slide. I understand and if you read everything in my replies, you should see that I was entirely trying to uphold BBG standards - the best standards on the net. You guys do a great job of owning the great atmosphere here.

OUTSTANDING TONY!!!!! I'VE MADE A FEW COMMENTS in humor taken the wrong way and deeply regretted it later. OOOOOOnly once and that was enough for me and try to limit my own comments now on subjects I know something about . There are only a few subjects I do know a little bit about , Simple fly tying , rod building , and  catching a few gills once in a while. While general observations by us all may seem harmless , to someone reading on the other end, the shortcomings of this system are all too evident. Feelings can't be put into the written word.  At least that is my opinion on this blog about long handles and comments made there. Actually to me the whole thing is kind of interesting and watching responses is hilarious .  Seems some folks get all worked up over nothing anymore!!!! In a hundred years or so none of this will matter , and as a matter of fact by next week there will be a new subject stirring everyone up!

Yeah I know I Flyfish most the time butt I do use a spinning rod went I'm not :) so here's my Opinion.

Nothing against TFO or any other rod manufactuars who builds rods with similar handles, but I try to avoid buying a rod with that type handle. It's just in the way, tangled up in my shirt/lifevest/bellybutton/anchor line/net/etc. Heck I even have some spinning rods that I've sawed the butt end off to make them more user friendly, keep in mind most of the time I'm fishing out of a kayak/canoe/small boat and from a sitting position.

My honest opinion is...... that type handle is built to catch the fisherman not the fish.

I use the Skeet Reese rod and have found it really helps for the light bites.

Thanks for all of the responses guys, it was interesting :) What is this i hear about a 42' rod?
