Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

First off I want to thank everyone here at BBG for their thoughts and prayers. I came to the hospital late yesterday afternoon for a heart check which involved running a cathator from my groin to my heart, then shooting dye into my heart and looking for any issues. My Dr. found a partial blockage in a main artery, and installed a stent in the artery. Two hours later I was up and walking the halls. Other than being a little sore I am feeling great. He said I have to cut Way Back on the biscuits and gravy, fat back, and cheeseburgers, then went on to say I need to cut back on my hours at work, and spend more time enjoying myself and  get on a exercise routine. I asked him if that ment I should fish more, and he said yes, as long as I walk to my fishing spots. lol  I am very thankful for all everyone has done for me.

Great news Vince! Now be sure to follow the Doctor's instructions....... work less and fish more!!

Those orders sound perfect to me!

me too :)

I am just thankful you are still here dad and it wasn't anything more serious . So i guess that means that i need to get back into fishing more so we can all spend some time together and make some awesome memories .

Karla...you are spot on!  Work less and fish with family more! I'm for that!

Jim , Its been a minute since dad and I have fished but we will get together one day and make it a family event for sure :)

I'm glad to hear you are doing well Vince.

That's great Vince hope you continue to have a speedy recovery!

Glad you're doing OK, Vince. If you don't float tube yet, it's great low impact exercise. I have stiff knees but they always feel great after a tubing session.

Don't float tube in waters that contain, or may contain, gators. It may offset any potential health benefits :p Ditto for cottonmouths and water moccasins :p

lol JB, we actually have some water snakes in the waters I tube. One time about 10 years ago I was fishing a small fairly shallow subdivision pond with rip rap around the shore. Snakes sightings were somewhat common, so I never worried much when I would see one swimming across the water. Well one day I saw one about 15 ft to my side and he went under the water. I started kicking slowly away when I happened to brush a tree branch under the water. I started kicking and churning water trying to get out of there untill I realized it was only a branch. I laugh about it now thinking how scared that snake must have been with all the commotion I caused.

lol not again

OK, well, maybe not a float tube then :)

Just Tuesday, I was carrying my tube down to a lake with its pack straps and a cyclist who'd never seen a float tube before asked me about it. I  explained what they are and how they work, and he asked me if there were any dangerous animals (he was from somewhere else, either Africa or the Caribbean judging by his accent) so I said  I wouldn't use one in the south, where there are alligators and a couple of poisonous water snake species, but there are no gators or poisonous water snakes in California.
