Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Well after yesterdays mishaps today went a little smoother. Didn't break near as much thread my worst experience was I pushed the bodkin halfway through my thumb got blood everywhere but after looking at the pictures I didn't see any so I assume it blended in quit well. I started last night but after getting thoroughly disgusted after breaking the thread about four times I put it all up. Today I did figure out the bobbin where new and I had to open then up. That took care of 75% of the breakage. Jen helped with the superglue and it worked great now the bodies don't tend to pull to the side when cinching them down. Greg suggested a different thread which I think I will have to order I didn't see it at Jann's.

Dick, I've never tied a fly in my life, but this non-expert thinks they look great! I would be proud to fish with any of em'.

Nice job!

Those are great Dick.  Bet you can't wait to try em out .  I'm sure they will catch some fish!!

I thought you did. I have been watching you tube for a week straight there is lots of stuff and I still haven't seen them all. That is my first batch and there are plenty flaws and its slow to me but with time I think I can cut the time down and flaws out. Thank you tony for the complement and you and yours have a good evening. GOOD FISHIN..

Be heading out soon to try them and your right I can't hardly wait. I still need a few more I have no idea how long they last when the fish are done with them plus I know I'll loose some to some trees that jump out and take them from you and underwater obstructions. Thanks for the vote of confidence and I know I have a long way to go and there is some harder stuff I want to try but I'll wait awhile. I think the Butt Spider will do what I need it to do.

Why Dick those look GREAT!!!!!!!!!! You should be very proud AND I think you must have the touch! Let me know how well they fish!

Jen I will certainly do that and thank you for all your input and complement.

dick those look great and will do fine.if the spiders slide around it is ok just tie them off and put a little glue on the underside where you wrap the legs and let them dry well.make sure you got em where you want em first tho.i use a pin vise and needles instead of a regular bodkin as i can change the needle easily if i break one.hopefully not in my hand.

Thanks Jim I'm actually improving and I love the glue. I have been gluing all the winds. Thank you kind Sir for the complimentu and I know I will do better as I goes on. Maybe the next will be a grasshopper or crickets. I guess my only downfall will be my lack of knowledge but I'm still learning and want to learn more. I already learned I didn't but enough hooks.

well look it here, i just tyed my 1st fly today and posted a discussion. i only did 1 because it is a slow process, but you look like you made out well with all those. :)

Been plugging at it all day. It is getting a little easier.

Dick, I believe we have a new MASTER TYER @ BLUEGILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will catch EVERYTHING ON THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HO WLONG HAVE YOU BEEN TIEING??????

Greg I may be a Master but it's not at tying. I had to table all my floating spiders cause they didn't float. I put to big a hook on them which goes to show I should have been with someone who knew what they were doing and this probably wouldn't have happened. The butt spiders It don't mater cause they are to sink anyway. What you seen was my 2nd day of tying. the 1st day as you know I broke the thread on everything I tied so I laid it down and walked away. Thanks to You, Tooty, Jen and numerous others I work through the thread issues and what my main problem was is the bobbins were new and to tight and the rest to inexperience. So what you see is my 2nd day and I'm by no means a master but I guess I can't be out on the water like I wanted so it truly helps to pass the time away. So I guess I'll have to buy some different hooks and forge on foreword thanking all you guys who are the Pro's the real Masters for all the help you have forwarded to me.
