Do you love big bluegill?

Any fellow Californians getting any early season Bluegills or Redears yet?  Won't be long now for the pre-spawn bite!

I was going to take my daughter out this weekend

we have been haveing nice warm days, Yesterday the wind came up and a cold

front moved in. This morning it is overcast dark and cold.

Hopefuly it will cler up this afternoon If not maybe next weekend. It is killing us to sit and wait

but sometimes thats how the story goes.

i do not know about california ,but in az it will not be long, last year it was about march 1st when they started, i am going to give it a try on wednesday.the temp is going to be high 70's all this week

I got a chance to fish for a few mins. This afternoon. in between jobs.

I fished one of the ponds at a golf course. I had a couple of hits.

I had only been fishing 15 to 20 mins. when a guy on a back hoe showed up and started pulling up

the cat tail plants. I fished for a few more mins. But nothing. I guess he stured up the water too much.

I am hopeing to get back in the next couple of days. Next time I will have some live bait with me.

fished today here in az for about 4.5 hr and only got one big ole cat. lots of boats but i saw nothing being caught. i did see one brave sole sking

I went out this morning.

1 LMB. No gills.

So far no one around here is catching any. I'm looking for a new place with less pressure.

Did you catch this beautiful thing recently?!

still nothing here in az. i thought that this week they where going to start my buddy caught one as soon as we got there but that was it i had no bites and he had 1 not even a cat this weekwe fished bout 5hr and tried bout everything.maybe next wednesday

Dink.

when I was a kid, I use to spend  the summers with my aunt & uncle in Parker Az.

we would fish the river and catch huge cats and tons of gills.

There was a marina a few miles from Parker, I remember fishing around the docks. I would slay the fish. I sure miss the fishing there.

Still waiting for the warm weather.  I'll give DVL a try in May or June.

fish4anything, you might want to try Jenks Lake. It opens just right around the corner (starting on April, where everything there will be opened).  I'll be heading up there, or Gregory, with the family pretty soon. The kids are getting the fish-fevers Since January.

Thanks, Leo.  I've never been to Jenks.  I'll definitely give it a try!  My freezer is cold and lonely right now.  LOL!

I know how it feels. LOL. It was full of gills last fall, but has been quite lonely with the icecreams..and a very seal tight catfish stink bait. If you have a tube, hit Lake Gregory. That little lake is a gold mine of panfish. Will hit it during the summer when the kids enjoy the water park there.
