Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Caney Lake in Louisiana....Some Experts list this lake in the top five nationally for Shellcracker Destinations

Caney Lake is a rather remote location nestled in Central Louisiana and according to some experts, in the top five nationally as a Shellcracker detination...Despite living in Louisiana for 20 years, I only got their once and what an addictive location it could be....My issue after enlisting in the Navy and moving away was having my family living on Toledo Bend....Don't take this wrong, Toledo Bend has made for a big chunk of my fishing memories with no regrets....Just curious if any members of Bigbluegill.com have ever fished Caney Lake and care to share their experience....Thanks in advance!

You're going make me a hobo Jeffrey. All these beautiful fishing places you show us makes me want to get up and go! Great pictures.

Just give me a couple hour head start Steve and we can experiment together.....I'm hoping to get over there for a day trip in March, but deconflicting the schedule will be tough....I've got some great locations in Louisiana already set up and If I leave fish biting in North Carolina I'm sure to be stressed out!!! LOL

Decisions, decisions!!! That's is the most stressful thing to do, figure out where we are going to fish. Sure wish I could join you on that road trip Jeffrey. But until this Democratic Convention is over here in Charlotte, I'm pretty much stuck close to home. Gotta keep those bright lights on for them people!

Understand and honestly I believe we are within a couple weeks of things picking up nicely right here in Carolina.....The White Perch and Crappie bites have both started early so I have no reason to believe Bluegill won't follow close behind. The fact that I caught a couple Coppernose Gills during this past miserable weekend is one good sign....I'm getting a little pollen on the water also and that is consistent with the bite improving as well...Good luck with the convention but keep fishing for a balance in life that we all love and deserve...

Hey JEFFREY, I really feel sorry for you with all those stressful discisions to make!!!!!!!!! Where do we go next to fish in these beautiful spotsLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOL . You are the luckiest guy in the world and keep the beautiful pics coming buddy!!!!!! ANOTHER ONE SAVED IN MY FAVORITES!
