I'm going to fly fish for bream / blue gill.

Also going to catch a flathead catfish over 10 pounds.

Pat

Pat, you need to try that Hillbilly Hand fishing. Catch you a 40 lb flathead..I would be afraid I would grab a logger head turtle and be known as stumpy the rest of my days..LOL

"Stumpy Vic" - LOL!

I have a number of goals for 2012, and if I attain any one of them, I'll be happy!

Catch my 'first' flathead catfish, probably from the Susquehanna River.

Catch a 17 inch crappie from any one of three local lakes that have yielded such fish.

Put a 30-pound carp on the bank.

Get back to the shad run in Delaware.

Catch 2,000 panfish. Last year despite all the carp fishing I did, I was still blessed to catch 1,811 bluegills, crappie and perch and a grand total of just 44 carp! I have kept accurate records over the years and to help me pinpoint prime times for the top-end specimens of the panfish in our region. I doubt that I will be able to travel much, as my wife Linda is getting knee replacement surgery in April. But I have my eye on a few new spots that have trophy potential.

But more than anything else, I really just want to introduce some local kids in my area to the sport of fishing, and no fish is better to start off with than the bluegill!

This year Im going to finally see these good spots ive caught all my bg in with a fishfinder, ive never used 1 sense I became a fishermen. Its about time though, plus a trolling motor. I want to really get to learn more about my fishing hole on film, so on and so forth, so I can share it with y'all!

Go getum Jason and good luck.

thx dick, im goin to try!

I'm retiring the last day of March, just in time for some serious Bluegill and Redear fishing. There are plenty of lakes here to get big numbers in Alabama as far as limits, but not that many Big Bluegill Lakes as far as size. I think after I retire, Me and a buddy are going south to some notible big sunfish lakes. They have a longer growing season and there have been 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lb and up Bluegills taken here in LA (lower Alabama) I hope this year to have a Bluegill big enough that I want Tim to make me a masterpiece of.

Well Vic happy retirement.

Thanks much Dick, I have never known a time when I wasn't working. I think it may  be a shocker for me but 35 years of building Tanks and weapons is enough for me and I think the Army is wanting me out also......Or maybe that is obama wanting me out...LOL

Same as Dick, Vic - Happy Fishing Retirement.

That is awesome. You inspire me.

Vic, you confused me , when you said LA I was thinking you were coming to Lower Arkansas, you may be retiring but now the real job is going to start, cleaning all those fish, Happy Retirement.    LOFR.
