what lb test do you like to use... and is it the flourocarbon type of line. i quit using mono last summer when the smallmouths would break me off constantly. now i use spider wire stealth 1lb test mono diameter with actual 6lb strength with 0 stretch and i love it. i cast tiny jigs far with increased sensitivity. now when these 3 lb smallmouths hit these tiny jigs on my ultralight i net them all.

Well, nice testimonial. I see the Cajun stuff, of course, but I don't find it in the low test forms needed for bluegill. The lightest I've seen is 8 and 10 lb. For the heavier needs I think it would be fine - a lot of people swear by it.

I tend to favor ice fishing line in 2-4 lb test for bluegill. It doesn't kink up and seems to stay fairly supple.

i personally use 4lb test.. ive tried braided line and i really dont care for it to be honest.. seems to create a lot of friction on the eyes of the rod.. but it has been years since i have used braided so maybe it has improved..

I do use it off and on and it is good line but I'm stuck on fluorocarbon you can feel everything and I still loose lots of fish I'm getting slow in my old age.

please excuse me but what is fluorocarbon line..lol

Fluorocarbon  virtually disappears in the water. It sinks faster than mono and very low stretch which makes it a very sensitive fishing line. It does have faults as it is not as limp as mono but improving every year and it is a little pricey. I feel so many more light bite with it it has helped me to increased my fish catching. There is lots of lines out there and lots of them are good. Use what you feel comfortable with.
