Do you love big bluegill?

It is my understanding that bluegill, dont like muddy water, Is this true? Which type of water do gills perfer?................Dwayne

The reason I asked this is, I am about to start fishing the Big Muddy river here in IL. The water is so muddy you can only see a couple inches down, if that much. I have never caught a gill in this river and was looking for some help.....Dwayne
