Hoping to cash in on the full moon

Was hoping that the fishing would be unstoppable this afternoon with the upcoming full moon. Maybe the new moon towards the end of the month will be better. However, I did manage one little nice one that made the trip worthwhile!

O nice you caught him on a crankbait, I have been trying out snap beans and few other small crankbait  brands with some success so far. Its funny because  a lot of small gills eyes are bigger then their mouths are, when they go after these baits.

They definitely have eyes bigger than their stomachs. I wish I had a pic, but I caught one on a full-size (~5in.) Zara spook topwater. I mean the lure literally wouldn't fit into its mouth, but he tried!

It's some kind of Abu Garcia combo I bought. I think it's 6', I can look and get you the exacts later. It is one of my favorite rod and reels. very smooth and easy to cast. And short enough to take on the kayak in small creeks!
