Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Okay, I used the cheesy "SECRET" word to get your attention. My apologies.

Sometimes the salesman comes out in me...

That said, there is some good reading on panfish - and bluegills - over on the North American Fishing Clubs' website. My dad is a Life Member and doesn't use computers, so I piggyback on his membership.

Here's one of my favorites:

Link should say InWeeds magazine exclusive...

And there are others not specifically geared to finding bream in weeds.

The NAFC is one of those industry serving concerns you dislike and you WILL find a lot of fishing "propoganda" there. Bass, Salmonids, Walleye/Musky and Crappie take priority, in that order. These are what anglers wanna catch; "Go Big Or Go Home!" is their motto.

Only a handful of the 35 or so panfish articles at NAFC are about bluegill, specifically. Crappie get most of the ink that is spilled over "panfish writing," while bluegill and perch take the dregs.

But I reckon that's okay... more for us. Once you know all this, you can "weed" through the hype to extract the learning.

As I like to say, "Sometimes in Life, you takes the bad - with the good."
