Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

These are what we here in the northeast call bibits The first ones i ever saw came from Michigan .    Thet were shaped a bit different.  I have also heard that they were made in canada using string and fingernail polish.   They work well Tipped with a maggot or cut bait.

Howard does your local tackle shop carry these or do you have to send away?

Also, what are the ranges of hook sizes in that box?

I'm wondering if these are what some folks call Banana  jigs.

these are made with #4 hooks locally sold by the small tackel and bait shops.
4's?Only one maggott?I would like to try cutting  back some of that paint on the hook and put a Fathead minnow on it !!
I haved used minnows with them many times they work well .

Howard-I sure would appreciate a link to purchasing these if you have one.

Also what kind of cut bait you using and what are you catching on the cut bait? Perch I'm guessing.I would like to use Perch eyes on these. I've caught Crappie and Yellow Perch on Perch eyes on spoons before.

Last time out I tried dead minnows that I salted and refrigerated myself on 1/8th Kastmaster and 1/8th oz. Rattlin' Flash spoons and the Crappie and Yellow Perch liked them.

I pinched off the head of some good sized minnows and the Crappie particularly fell for them. This is new to me but it is a great way to use up the bait that's left over from a tip up outing . I usually only jig if I go out alone .
