Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My favorite Tipup is the Frabill Classic. Smooth beveled reel, two tension option ,line arm, large wavy flag(not stiff plastic).Very solid in high wind  if you pack the snow over the two ends .

Would like to hear reviews of effective tipups you guys are using because my mistakes in the past ice fishing ventures have been the result of sticky reels on tipups .

Beaver Dam tip-ups are by far my favorite.  They might cost a little more but they will last a lifetime.

I'm still using the three I received for X-Mas over 30 years ago.  No other tip-up lasted that long,  JR

Jody ,they look good but don't look like the have the beveled spools I think are a superior feature on the Frabill classics. They do have some of the features though ;sturdy board and pop up flag construction .Do the BDams  have the dual tension feature?

I have some of the ones like those HT brand .    I also have the 40 ups and the Heritige lakers they work well also .     I do love to tipup fish.  I am embaressed to tell but we can set 15 out at one time on Lake champlain.    I still have some i bought at K mart over 30 years ago
here is a couple of pictures of the most common tipups used up here

Yahooed the 40 ups ,never heard of them .I like the 40 ups, apparently you can see them a long way off! Made in America too.Thataway Howard!!
Gotta do something about the tipups getting all tangled in transit.Anyone know where I can get those thick bands(what're they called?) that go around the tip up reels? The  Rubber bands work ok but they get kinda tangled too.
hairbands workwell for me get them at a dollar store
Ya know thats a great idea!
