Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone know how to fish in 1/2 to 1 inch of ice. I was thinking about trying to fish from the bank and work holes with worms.

Austin - You get the die hard award !!! Take a water temp in that hole you plan to fish and get back to me . While you're there try a small jig with small favorite  live bait attached . I'd use a meal worm. and fish close to bottom first .How are you gonna land that fish with ice around the hole ? We will have to find that out!Maybe six lb. test if a fish will hit!

If you're busting holes in that ice your determination is most commendable and worthy of more rewards!Happy fishing and I will stay tuned to your discussion for sure !You might be a pioneer in some new branch of extreme fishing!!

Ever fish with mealworms? They work great in cold water ! What species are you thinking about catching where you want to try ? Yellow Perch on bottom might be your best ticket if they are in the water you plan on fishing .

Went fishing today. Pond is iced over and the holes I was going to fish is closed shut. I had to bust new holes with a weighted bare hook. It is acually a pond I am fishing. No luck, but I am going up into the mountains the monday after Christmas to get trout if weather is good.
