I like to fly fish. Favorite flies include No. 10 poppers, Plain Jane Nymph and Myakka Minnow.
I use spoons 97% of the time......Some of you may think that this lures profile is a bit too large...@ approx 2.25"

I can assure you, it's not.

Your technique is really interesting. How in the world did you discover it?
are you reeling at a very slow pace or are you letting them drop?
I discovered the technique several years ago one day when the nightcrawler chunks just weren't cutting it....This bait works amazingly well on suspended fish, and shines when water temps are above 50 deg.
Most of the time my retrieves are very slow with an occassional twitch and a susequent drop-back
or pause.....allowing the spoon to flutter back during the pause is always the trigger to the strike.
Ryan,I fish mainly thru ice,so my choice of lures are going to be different from open water type.I have been leaning towards mainly plastics vs. live bait. Early shallow fish I use a # 12 -#10 Custom Jigs and Spins Shrimpo.Later/deeper fish I tend to use a Ratso or a 32oz. jig with power minnow.Color changes with light and depth. But I mainly use what the fish want.
1/32 oz. jig.,A 2 pounder wouldn't work too weel on 2 lb. line!
hey i picked up a small gold kastmaster spoon at bass pro the other day. cant wait to try it!
Musky Mod,
What is your favorite spoon? Color & size?
Musky, Where do you get the Blue Fox Rattle Flash Spoons. I am not having any luck finding them. I really like to find the 1/16th oz size.
Musky Mod.....97% on spoon......interesting!

When I fish for big bluegills and I use fresh live bait most of the time! A whole 3 or 4 inch leafworm, giant redworm and leeches. Sometime waxworm or maggots. I don't like cut nightcrawler and I perfer a whole small nightcrawler like natural to fool big and smart 'gills. For ice fishing, I like spikes and waxworms. Few nice on small minnows.

Okay! Sorry! This is suppose to discuss about LURES!

I caught a lot of bluegills up to near 10" is 1/64 oz plain jig with gulp maggot. Also 1/80 or 1/64 oz jig/ black twistertail.
1/24 oz roostertail spinner is also good for me but must have a longnose piler to remove small treble hook for release.
