Thanks! I think I was using a Gopro in tandem with an old red camera that looked like a phone that I can't recall the name of. I do know that it was really good, waterproof, and a 100 bucks at Best Buy. I will try to get you the name of it.

And that day they were just post-spawn I believe (it was over two years ago if you can believe that) so they were cruising shallow flats looking for crawdad and nymphs. (We killed the smallies on size 12 bugs tied by David Eitutis on a similar day).

I haven't fished New York at all but you should have a blast in September. Are you going for them on the fly?

Also, I didn't know you gigged! I dabble a bit myself but have not played "Blackbird." "For What It's Worth" is just a great song with great lyrics and message and all. Fishing and guitar are two great passions and I think you have both of them down pretty well!

I love fishing clear lakes too Dick, and muddy lakes... and lakes in between. I guess I just like fishing.

Thanks guys, Roger, I will message you the name of the place. Really what I've noticed in Chicago is that you can drive an hour just about every way to somewhere that can have good fishing, but you should probably try to focus somewhere and really learn the heck out of it.

Beautiful water and excellent video Jacob! Love Smallies when I can get them .Looks like you really got into them! How deep were they holding at and feeding? Ever fish 1000 islands in NY state? Goin there to Chippewa Bay for Smallies in September .First time there hope we get on them !
BTW I enjoy playing and singing .'For What It's Worth " and 'Blackbird' at my gigs .Nice choice of music !

Jacob,  that was indeed an epic day of catching large smallies.  Really enjoyed your vid.  I am in the Chicagoland area as well, would you possibly share what lake you were fishing?
