Dude!! Sorry for the late response, been workin like a mad-man! Going to pick up a 16ft Alumacraft with 25hp Johnson, on Saturday! Got the whole package for 800$! So when I get this baby, and make sure everything is tip-top, we are going!! We will get a tube trip or two in as well! Let me know when you are coming up this way!
Hey Michael! Man I need to apologize to ya. I completely forgot about the icefishing outing. I had to leave town and left the phone at home! Sorry friend! I have been so busy with school and work but, it is starting to settle down a bit! Stay in touch!
You've inspired me! Yea. Now I need to do some catching and see what kind of pics. I can come up with?
But you know, when the fishing is good, it's hard to slow down and take a bunch of photos. Just need to stop and savor the moment.
I also wanted to ask, If you have any issues with fish colors being muted by using a flash. This happens to me sometimes when photographing Crappie or white bass, because of their silvery color. If I photograph someone holding the fish, I use a flash on sunny days to remove the shadows. Especially if they are wearing a hat-for example.
I try to lessen the effects by staying further away from the fish and using the zoom more. I prefer to keep the detail in the fish, and brighten the image later, if possible?
Michael,
Thanks for the info. I really like the different angles, unique set-up's, and use of backgrounds in your shots!
I have a high-end Nikon point and shoot, with a computer chip that has a lot of different pre-sets for different situations. It has tremendous resolution, but more features than I need. Great photos like yours are all in the creativity of the photographer.
cool! fishin has been pretty good, for winter anyhow, have to drill through 2 feet of ice to get my line to the gills, but I need the exercise anyhow I guess ;-)
Mike, I made a mistake using another member's name when I meant to use yours. I was trying to tell John Sheehan about putting 2 spikes on a teardrop which I noticed that we share in common. Anyway, just letting you know. How's fishing been over there in MN??
that pic of the sliced gill reminds me of one i cought. it got hooked right through up through the skull. (i think through the brain im not sure) but the top of its head got riped open about an inch and a halph long. felt bad for it. it was alive when i put it back in.
Michael! Did you get aphone call a couple of nights ago, someone dude asking for Max? I have been meaning to tell ya, but keep forgetting, that was me!!!LOL Should've called ya back! Those cell phone buttons are so damn small! LOL!!! Take care!
Hello Sir! Thanks for the comment. Last weekend was the only time I have been out in a month. School has me so tied up. I'm hoping that the drilling starts soon! We have to punch some hole this winter. I'm in "lake data" mode and have found some promising waters for some big boys! Talk to ya soon!
Big Mike! I think the 19th would be absolutely perfect! We will hammer out more details tomorrow night. Gotta hit the hay..Going fishing in the morning the Mr. Sikkila!
Thos may sound strange but, Im not a hunter! If I do go it is for grouse and rabbits. When everyone is hunting, I am fishing, I have just about any lake I want to myself up here! Lets plan on something mid to late Sept!
Hey dude! i'm looking at maybe mid Sept for a "one last outing". I would love for you and John to join me! I will keep you posted! I do forsee a hole drilling party this winter though, for sure!
I haven't been icefishing in 8 years! I have all the equipment so I'm very anixous to go! Before I moved to Ky, I would fish an average of 300 days a year. Postman style, Rain, Sleet, or Snow!
Man, that would be awesome but, I have to guide some buddies for walleye and bass! As far as me and John's trip, Jonh is rockin' his canoe and I will be in the tube! The three of us will have to go sometime! That would be one great time! Youare always welcome in The House of the "Bullworm" my friend!

Any suggestions, based on your experience?
Thanks again,
