Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

DON'T KNOW if anyone else has noticed this happening or not so here we go.
While I was talking to member Ray Ditzenberger on the phone today we eventually got to the good ole days of summer.
When I was a kid growing up I remember July's and August weather as brutally hot and no wind . Couldn't catch a breeze for anything to cool us down . We'd just go swimming in the local pool to cool off in the dog days of summer. That was the early to mid 60's . He recalls the same thing and I have surmised for years what my uncle once told me a few years back. Most all the fencerows that used to be in agricultural fields are now gone. Deforestation of the Amazon and other rain forests is also no help.
Now we have wind in the summer here almost every other day and it is a relief to be sure but it's different now .
Was just wondering if Ray are just two old geezers off their rockers now ?!!!!!!!!!!
HOW ABOUT IT ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS TREND?..

We have had a MAJOR cold front blow in here in GA. It was 63 degrees here for a high today!  Next week we are heading back to normal August weather. This whole summer has been wetter and cooler than normal. At the start of August this year we have only had 3 days at 90 or higher.  I am not complaining, as a lot of my time at work is spent working equipment on our plants roof.

I feel quite sure that summers were hotter in the San Diego of my boyhood than they are now. One year in the seventies, the banana tree in our front yard even set fruit (it didn't mature, but they were baby bananas nevertheless). Now, July and most of August feel a lot like June more often than not.

WELL LEO I don't know about the world ending but the weather is changing and it is really goofing up the fishing here for me . Looks like fishing is going great in other parts of the country but certainly is different here buddy.....

Let just say that the winds of changes have already began nearly a decade ago. If you haven't noticed, the deserts are becoming more hostile, and the tropical areas are now experience the desert conditions, while the artics or colder climates are leaning toward tropical. So, yes, the winds are changing. The weathers are shifting more violently. The world is ending..*Terminator theme song*

Comment by Ray Ditzenberger on July 28, 2013 at 9:06am

Hey David. I enjoyed our conversation yesterday. There are many that feel that I am off my rocker and it is a fact that I am an old geezer but ........my rocker location does not need to be advertised. I would rather that not everyone knows the truth. hehehe
