Veteran Day Salute to the men and women of our armed forces

From the bottom of our hearts, our family stands proud, and salute the men and women of the U.S. armed forces, including their families, for protecting the freedom that we all share in this sovereign nation.

From the fallen, to the missing, the captured, the retired, the active, reserved, and enlisted, we are proud to acknowledge you as our hero of this country.

You are not forgotten.

Thank you to the veterans on BBG and everywhere. My dad, my uncle, and my brother all served in the army, but sadly, by the time I had any interest in military service, I was too old at the time.  They raised the limits after 9/11, but not enough to catch up with my age.

I would have been the black sheep of the family, because it was the navy that interested me.

Thanks again to all of you who heard the call while you were young enough to enlist!

Well put Leo and it doesn't matter if you've personally served as long as you stand united with those of us that have.......My service is a lifetime commitment to our great nation! 22 years active Navy as a submariner and ever since as a civil service employee supporting our  World's Finest Navy....Every Individual makes a difference!

I wishes I could have been able to serve the forces. Unfortunately, my physical assessment deemed I was more of a liability in the field than beneficial. I did volunteer as civil field medic and water quality personnel in training through the special favors. That didn't last long. They need to do something like the Korean and Japanese culture, where all men and woman must serve for a period of two years as part of their duties as national citizens

Thanks, man. In our day and time, about 7% of ALL Americans will ever serve their country and their fellow citizens via military service. That's it - 7 out of 100. Of those, some pay the final price.

Currently, it is also voluntary, not compulsory. It is a small number in my esteem, and it does feel nice to be remembered for it. That more felt so compelled to thus serve is what I would hope for.
