Smallmouth Rendezvous and Flytying Extravganza

This is an invitation to the above SMR. On Apr.30 and May 1, 2010, in Tahlequah, Ok. This is an event put on by the Tulsa Fly Fishing Club and the Tahlequa Fly Fishers. It is an event to promote fishing in the area and bring Fly tyers together for a 2 day event. Some of the featured tyers are the tyers from www.warmwaterflytyer.com, Dave Whitlock, Terry and Roxanne Wilson, They have written books on Blue Gill, Smallmouth, Largemouth, fishing with a fly rod. Terry is also a member of Big BlueGill.
The event is a free event with an auction, blind auction and best of all Indian Taco's with fry bread, beans and hamburger and all the trimmings. Good Stuff. The proceeds go to a scholarship for a student going into wildlife biology, game warden etc.
The Main focus of the event is the fly tying. Last year we had 59 tyers, at every skill level from beginners, to advanced tyers. If you would like to tie, let me know and I will give you an e-mail address for the director, or just show up with your tying gear.
Its a long way for most of you I know, But this is an invitation extended to every one, would like to see you there. This will be my fifth year there and the fellowship is great.
Thank You
Greg

Steve this one is for you. It was a muskie popper, That the fellow made smaller so he could catch smallmouth. This popper is about 7" long.

All of these were tied in front of the public and other tyers, with detailed instructions and fishing tips for each individual fly.

The 10 th. anual SMR wil be the first weekend of May of 2011. All members are hereby invited to the event.
I will be wearing the "BIG BLUEGILL.COM" Hat.
Hope to see yall there.

The 9th anual Smallmouth rendevous and fly tying extravaganza, was a great weekend of fellowship with tyers and the public interested in tying.

Terry and Roxanne Wilson, were one of the featured speakers. They have written books on Bluegill, Largemouth, Smallmouth, with the fly rod and flies.
They're first presentation was on " More and Bigger Bluegill". Terry is a member of Big Blue Gill. Fun to visit with and helpful with tips and tying of his Bully's Blue Gill Spider. I have been doing it wrong.

We had around 50 tyers, from beginners to professional.

These are a few of the flies demonstrated.
