Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

April 15'2009
I finally caugh some pumpkin seeds and my first Blue gill. They are not as common in this area. They were in the shallow flodded backwater.

I went to the lake last night hoping the sunnies would bite I keeped a nice bunch to eat.
Iwas so pleased with last night I took the after noon off from work and went fishing. I must have caught about 75 fish. I let most of them go I only kept the ones that were hooked bad or large. I caught 5 nice blue gills . I did use my longpole to try it out it is different. I did enjoy the cane long pole, but I think my littlle ultra light sinning outfit produces more fish. I think the longpole will work better when I get my boat in the water. Tomorrel I am skipping work again and the flyrod is coming out of the case

Went Fishing yesterday and caught some more fish. They are not biting at all in the rivers. Tomorel I want to go to the southeast side of the state and see if I can catch a shellcracker. acording to the state fish and game dept someone stocked them in a small lake and they have done very well. It is the only lake in Vermont with redears in it. From what I have read they average about 6 inches . I have not used my flyrod yet
