I am just starting to fish again after a 15 year absent. Started tying some jigs this past winter and I cannot wait for the ice to leave to use them. I did get on the ice sevral times this winter. In This area, perch is mostlly what is caught through the ice. I was hoping to catch my first pumpin seed through the ice this year but that did not happen. Maybe next year.

4-1-2009 The ice has moved in the lake far enough from shore so maybe tomorrel I can get in some fishing time . The water may still be to cold for sunnies but the pearch will usally bite

Hang in there Howard and spring will eventually come and the fish will turn on. The seasonal change is lagging here in central MD and , even though we are catching some fish, we are not getting the action like we normally do this time of year.

Spent most of yesterday trying to catch some bleegills I did not get a single bite. I think the water is still to cold to come in the river here. The wind blew to hard for me to go off shore. I tried to fish in the woods where the lake floods back in the spring Isaw another person catch a few the other day. However it is a small area and the northren pike were making plays in there. Another person was bowhunting for pickrel there he got one small one will post a picture of it. I used my spinning rod with small jigs tipped with garden worms. From th pictures being posted south of where i am maybe by the middle of the week things will happen. I want to catch to catch some gills. I am jelous you guys in the south.
