Do you love big bluegill?
Hit the lake at 6:30 this morning and the water was already 85 degrees. Started the first hour fly fishing poppers. The bite has slowed down from last week with the bluegill and shellcracker holding deeper in the 8' depth but managed to catch a few of each. (will add the pics)
By 7:30 had my jigs looking for the crappie. Been finding a lot of small fish and have worked hard over the last month trying to find some bigger fish. Well today I found them in 8' of water bitting a foot off the bottom. Caught 41 crappie with 18 being keeper size (over 10'' for me) and caught two cats with one close to 10 pound and kept a channel that was a couple pounds to go along with the crappie and bream. Fished until 12:30 and it had turned so hot that the last fish I caught came with an order of fries!!! LOL 90 degree water is just to warm to be holding fish....

Nice report Ronnie and good fishing.....Way to adapt to the adverse heat wave conditions...That's the hardest part for most anglers.......Fish react to their surroundings...we have to do the same to stay in the strike zone!
