Last weekend I had the opportunity to go back home for a few days and spend time with my familly. The fiance came with me and we decided we wanted to go fishing. Once we got home we spent the night with my older brother Carlos and had asome fun. The next morning I woke up my little brother early in the morning and the three of us (including my fiance) went up to pyramid lake in California to do some fishing. We wernt species specific but we did hear that they had stocked with trout a few days prior so I made sure we had an ultralight or 2 just incase the trout bite picked up. We got to the lake at about 6 am and went in with out having to wait to long in line. Our first location sammy (little brother) wanted to try his luck with a small swim bait tipped with some corn to see if a trout would chase it. He got a big surprise when instead he pulled out a 1 1/2 lb cat from the weeds! Sadly I forgot to take pictures before releasing the cat back into the water. 30 minutes pass with no bite so we head on out for a difrnt area. On the way there we pass a small dock where they keep the rentals on the lake. As I looked a bit more closely I saw a bluegill had decided to make a bed right at the waters edge. Using the knowledge this sight has taught me I looked around and low and behold, there was several beds in the area in between the weeds. Excitedly I told ashly (fiance) and sammy to get the ultralights ready. Sammy caught 2 himself and ashly caught 1. It was there first time catching a bluegill and ashlys first freshwater fish ever! All in all it was a great trip and my little brother made my day by saying that was one of his most favorite fishing days ever!
