They use herbicides throughout the laķe but the eelgrass is persistent and they use a harvester on those areas. These are submergent and usually start shallower at about 6 ft and rise close to the top. Very tough weed to fish through. It is not a prefered weed for bluegill. Other than these vast beds i have know idea where they go.

How deep are the weeds? Are they emergent or submerged?

yesterday found me on Wixom Lake with a weather forecast predicting lines of thunderstorms. so the foul weather gear was packed and decided to fish near the bridge for cover just in case. fishing was slow and found no schools of fish on the deeper flats. buried in the weeds again due to the weather. i need to perfect a technique of fishing in the weeds... im finding drop shotting is not the answer for me.

so the scorecard is rather dismall

(1) gill x seed hybrid 8.3"

(1) gill 8" class

(1) seed 8.4 "
