The weather has been spring like for the past two weeks in northern Illinois(Waukegan) and I was wondering if the water temp. is in the mid 40's would chumming bring the gills into 7-10 feet of water? I hoping so cause I'm going out this weekend to try my luck at my honeyhole.

Panfish are bitting....

...very good early morning and late evening. I caught over 80 panfish(bluegills, crappies.strippers) on night crawlers and cricket jig.I guess you can say they were in the pre-spawn mode. Catfish were a problem cause most of them I caught were small but put up a good fight...now I'm wondering if the panfish in the chain-no-lakes are bitting? I shall find out this weekend and post some pics if my luck is good,

nice clean place to visit...to fly a kite, walk or to enjoy its beauty; however,  fishing isn't that good from my stand point. The lake is too weedy and no boats are allowed. I fished for about two hours and only caught small gills who enjoyed a free meal. Bass and Crappies were not biting nor bullheads...overall the place sucks....
