Spring and summer has gone past and i didnt even really get to fish much. We had horrible weather,, rising water,... just a horrible fishing season for freshwater. Saltwater, reds and specks, thats all good, but not too great with freshwater.

Literally, blew a gasket. Last week, I was heading out on Saturday to a local pond when I noted a cloud of smoke following me. I pulled off the road and to my amazement, found oil pouring from my engine. Luckily I was still close to home and got back without damage to the engine.

Guys, I need some help. I'm going to try and gather data on Hybrid Bluegill (HBG), of the variety most often stocked into ponds and lakes...a cross between a male Bluegill, and a female Green Sunfish.

This year (2013) ,in June and then again in October and November  , I've tried tandem jig rigs a few times . With and without added spinners, they've  worked on Crappies ,Gills, Yellow and White Perch . Have had very good gill catches using the 1" chartreuse shad Berkley Gulp Minnow this late fall season in souther MI, however finding them to be expensive at 3.99/12 in current packaging.  Was able to purchase same item in a 2oz jar for 5.99 with approx. 30 count.  Are there any less expensive alternatives out there in a like manner of product.

Ok y'all, this will be a quick hit opener on the stats I have on quality bluegill waters in my region, as I am still reviewing the numbers as this blog will progress. Neither of us get around as good as we used to and may have to try going deeper for the Redears and Gills .
