- What type of animal is a bluegill?
- Am digging one as we speak. Hope to have it dug before the snow flies so I can get it stocked with gills before ice in. When completed, it will be just about an acre. It is an excavated pond and I am in the water table so I won't be relying on rain to fill it. Looking forward to being able to catch gills and bass in my own pond...... Yea!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
I have seen ads that tout Birchwood WI as the "Bluegill Capital of the World" ! !
Any truth to that? I am thinking about maybe taking my bride up there this summer for a few days. Would sure like to hear about where to stay and which lake is real good! OR, tell me about any other bluegill "hotspots" that are in the midwest... Thanks..... John

We were changing locations when we noticed something in the water, mind you we had saw beavers and…
