- What type of animal is a bluegill?
- It is small approx 65 x35 feet, ground water fed no springs. I built an areation system using a VFD and a 3 phase motor driving a Gast rotary compressor that runs 24/7 365 days a year. I use Aqua-Fix additives as well as aqua-shade. The fish growth and health is very good. There are a variety of fish including lake shiners, perch, rock bass, bluegills, catfish. I feed them Purina Fish Chow about 2 cups per day.

Thanks for joining the Big Bluegill crew. I hope you enjoy the pictures, stories, and humor (if you'd really call it that). We hope this will be a fun site for bluegill enthusiasts to check in on every once in a while.
Your pond sounds really cool. I'd love to see a picture of it someday.
