Do you love big bluegill?
An avid fly tying angler used a 1/16" flexi-tube, and create a 1/4" to 1/2" tube fly, which you can simply slide your leader directly through them, and a hook at the very end. The hook sizes and types can be inter-changed quickly to attack certain species without accidental gut hooking. He caught several trouts already with a tube fly grub design. Here's mine:
* Left side mimics the local butterflies and beetles. I may have to trim the hair on one side a bit shorter..but I'll leave it long to test the ripple effects cause by the hair to attract the fishes.
* Right side mimics the large worms I found along the Bernasconi side of the woods during shoreline fishing. The tail just an added water disturbance..
- Both being used in a UV light introduction to normal lighting, to see what human eyes can detect. Since this is what I can see, the fishes will see these three times brighter. Hm..hope they take the baits.
