I don't always like fishing days when you can count the bites but keeping things in perspective....it is mid December and I was happy to catch 18 gills in 47 degree water.....I'm trying to concentrate on the few areas in my region that have some northerns since Coppernose predictably are less likely to bite in these temperatures.....

Now you're talkin'..... AND finding fish! Outstanding effort Jeffrey, with equally outstanding results!

Thanks guys.....This chapter of my catching bluegill book is still the thinnest but I'm trying a lot of different approaches and finding a few....You've heard the old adage......"A blind chicken finds a kernel of corn every once in awhile".....LOL....I know I can't catch them at home sitting on the couch.....

Many of the creeks I fish are no more than 10 feet deep so the fish winter on slopes and in holes if they can find them so I work the creek channels until I wake a few of my friends.....I had little to no wind today just a light breeze so I could fish very slow as required with 47 degree water temperatures.....

Thanks for info and 5-7 feet deep seems shallow for this time of year........

Thanks Tooty...near bottom in 5 to 7 feet of water...It was chilly with a slight northerly wind component...in the 40s.....Bite was slow...fished 3.5 hours for about 30 bites...
