Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The scenic Albemarle pulls me in.....I'm often late setting the hook as I become immersed in all that Mother Nature has to offer...........What's missing is the stereo of a dozen big bull frogs still singing after sunrise.........

Lots of shallow flats with native grasses.......a few holes here and there.......brackish water so it supports an abundance of life.......lots of downed trees and the like......got to remember in this region these coastal marshes receive the full blow of an approaching hurricane or tropical storm........cool place to fish and you never know what you will catch.......

next trip hopefully in the next few weeks I will have to lay the bream busters down and throw the jigs, thanks again for the reply.

Thanks Timmy.......I tip 1/32 ounce jigs 99% of the time.....I work the combination effect if you will......I like crickets and grass shrimp the best for tipping.......

do you tip your jigs or just fish plain.have fished Pasquotank over 40 years but only once or twice a year, friend had a trailor at lambs where we would stay at on some trips,he got myself and another buddy hooked on bream fishing when we were both about 10 years old.i tell people around home they have not seen a real bluegill until they fish the rivers in the Elizabeth city area.the reason I asked we aiways used crickets but would just as soon catch them on jigs.thanks

This place is brackish as well......you can catch 25 different species of fish in here.....I've actually caught a flounder on a cricket in this piece of water........
