NO TYING FOR ME JIM. YET. MY DAD TIED HIS OWN CRAPPIE JIGS AND MY SON CAN TIE SOME BUT I DONT NEED ANOTHER HOBBY RIGHT NOW.

you doing any tying yet keith?with your artistic skills you would be a great one.i fish a lot of similar smaller lakes and ponds.the most common forage is bugs for panfish.lots of flies imitate minnows too.tooty's bugs are unique,he is a master with  marabou .

Congratulations on the crappie!

I usually catch a few out of the local lake each year, but they are small. Pick up an occasional catfish, too. The catfish are always fun - like trying to pull a bulldozer in! Not a spectacular fight, just a constant resistance all the way in. They are all fun on the fly rod!

only gotton a few catfish on flies,always fishing for something else.carp are a lot of fun too,smarter/more finickeythan most fish but when you hook one they go nuts.
