NO TYING FOR ME JIM. YET. MY DAD TIED HIS OWN CRAPPIE JIGS AND MY SON CAN TIE SOME BUT I DONT NEED ANOTHER HOBBY RIGHT NOW.
you doing any tying yet keith?with your artistic skills you would be a great one.i fish a lot of similar smaller lakes and ponds.the most common forage is bugs for panfish.lots of flies imitate minnows too.tooty's bugs are unique,he is a master with marabou .
I hope to add a few new species to my fly fishing list this year.
Congratulations on the crappie!
I usually catch a few out of the local lake each year, but they are small. Pick up an occasional catfish, too. The catfish are always fun - like trying to pull a bulldozer in! Not a spectacular fight, just a constant resistance all the way in. They are all fun on the fly rod!
CONGRATS Keith I have yet to catch a crappie on a fly.
only gotton a few catfish on flies, always fishing for something else.carp are a lot of fun too,smarter/more finickeythan most fish but when you hook one they go nuts.
Now you know that was fun. CONGRATS
I just started fly fishing a couple a years ago Jim, so there have been a lot of firsts for me.
