This is an active hut in Griffins Swamp in eastern North Carolina…….they have dropped dozens of large hardwood trees in this area…..

Glad you had a happy ending to that event Jim….duck blinds here are in high wind flyways…..so it can be tough late winter early Spring for sure….thanks for sharing your experience….
YEP.I fell thru a beaver hut a couple years ago.Foolishly decide to stand on it to fish.One leg went all the way in.Was not easy getting out.Years ago at Reelfoot Lake wr fished duck blinds.It was early March and we did quite well inspite of a roaring N wind.We got our limit almost every day.Beaver and muskrat huts always should be explored especially if they are downing trees nearby.Fish cover for sure.
