This is an illustration of the beaver hut and helps me describe how I fish it……..around the entrances the beavers will build support columns that anchor into to the bottom.  These areas will attract every small creature in the water from insect larvae, minnows, fish fry…..you name it……and certain species will glue themselves in these areas for protection and food supply…..in my region you will often catch fliers and Warmouth in numbers and quality and crappie will also take up residence if the hut is constructed adjacent to deep water,,,,.I have mapped over thirty active huts this calendar year and they almost always produce bites……
