Do you love big bluegill?
Had a five bass bag that went 21 pounds and 13 ounces...Didn't start out looking for bass but they found me as they are staged to go shallow so they were busting my grass shrimp tipped jigs around cover......This fish was just short of 21 Inches long.....

Big bass stringer on the Gronaw Grass Shrimp jigs........
Allen...it is medium pearl chenelle, then I take a permanant Sharpie and color the top of the jig to give it a darker 'back' for the effect. I am finding that you can do a lot with the permanant markers, including making mistakes!
One cool thing is that I coat the wrappings with Crazy Glue, which gives the chenelle fibers a 'brittle/crunchy' feel...just at the head where the securing wrappings are. Also, the Crazy Glue will blend some of the green marker ink into the sides of the jig. Thanks for the compliment!
I am experimenting with this for minnow- imitating jigs...stay tuned.
Most years that's as big a bass as I'll get all season! Looks like the Tank has a healthy bass population.
Green Darner, huh...Glad they are getting quality fish for you!
Great Bass Jettrey
Thanks Carl......and I caught this fish on a jig made by member Jim Gronaw.......that made it cool too......can't wait to see how the Coppernose like it!
hahahha jeffery what can i say buddy!! you did it again!! great looking bass buddy
Thanks Jim......I'm determined to catch some nice gills on the new ones but it's still a little early for the sunfish run....Weather looks great this week with the exception of a little cold front......should give us a kick on water temps......
That's it....I'm tying bass jigs from here on out! Great fish!
Less than 10 out of the southwest Derrick....first time in a week under ten! This bite was triggered by the moving water and a couple degree spike in water temps.....No telling what a true bass angler could have done with them!
Great fish Jeff. Not beat up or bloody. must have moved up recently. How was the wind by you? It blew like crazy here.
