Thanks Jim......these tidal Crappie push in ahead of the Bluegill in my region so soon I will catch both for a short period of time before the Crappie pull back out of the shallows, but that's not until I catch some at one foot under a float next to shore and around man made structures....
Excellent catch of tidal crappie...a very overlooked panfish option in many parts Back East. Our water is still in the low 40's, but I hope to get out for some tidal slabbin' soon!
Thanks Tooty.....another feature of this region is the tidal Crappie run.....a great time as I wait for the gills to wake up!
NICE MESS OF FISH JEFFREY !!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the dogwoods be in bloom its like clockwork. Dogwood bloom, crappie bite is on
Thanks Dick.....Dogwoods are in bloom!
Nice uns Jeffrey. Looks like some decent Crappies so how's the dogwoods.
I bet that will be a beautiful shot in the Summer and Fall Rick......I'm like a kid in the candy store now......water temperatures going the right way....still got to get through March and a few more cold fronts.....What I do from here on out is fish Crappie in my Bluegill staging areas and I will start catching gills on this application and then I shift over to my bluegill favorites and pick up a few Crappie until they leave the shallows.....Works good for me and is very predictable......year after year.....sometimes a little earlier than spring and sometimes a few days later but always near Good Friday.....
Thanks Jim...things are on track....the Crappie start 6 to 8 degrees earlier than our big Coppernose......we appear to be on our way for the Spring.....It's an exciting time of the year!
