Add a rattle and I don't know what the fish would do Dick......strong enough to hold big channel cats and some bowfin too.......it's the right hook for my region coupled with nothing less than 12 pound test.......Even using the 12 pound and having the drag backed off I had my line popped twice this morning......once I was wrapped around a pier piling with barnacles so that didn't help......the other time I could not turn the fish with my five foot light action pole, drag was racing and the line snap sounded like a .22 going off........
