Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The water was down several feet recently on one of my favorite rivers.

It's rare that this old relic gets exposed like this.....I look for the rope to rot through at some point, I've known the boat was there sunk since the late 90s.....

I have seen some pretty neat stuff on a hummingbird side imager. One of the lakes around here has a wind mill still standing in it. Saw a boat once with motor still on it and a tackle box lying beside it.

i bought my son one of those underwater cameras for ice fishing.i don't think he uses it much,my have to borrow it as i love seeing what is down there.they opened a large area of old quarries near me and some are gin clear.heard there is some old machines down there, could be fun to see who lives down there.

Neat story JIm......back in the early 80s there was a series of old sand pits dug for the construction of Interstate 26 near Charleston, S.C.......The property owners turned this area into a family park with fishing, swimming and snorkeling because the visibility was awesome......Part of this project sank some old boats and a small airplane for fish attractors. This plane sat in roughly 12 feet of water and all the windows had been removed....Right at the windshield location a huge bluegill had taken residency and he would get pretty defensive when you paid him a visit. He had unique markings and I saw him in that spot three years in a row until mysteriously he was gone for good.....But with fishing allowed in the park I was actually surprised he lasted as long as he did.

take advantage jeffrey,we got real low water here too and i am amazed at what is down there.used to fish a strip mine that had a junk pile in it.i caught the same mean old warmouth about 20 times.he lived in an old clothes dryer down about 20 feet.you had to drop a jig right next to the hole where the door used to be and he would attack it.never did have the heart to eat him

Been a while since the water in this region was this low......waiting for the next time so I might retrieve a few of my lures that are undoubtedly lodged on this sunken vessel...LOL

It does make you wonder, doesn't it. What happened that the boat, the trusty old boat, went into that neglected state.

But then, maybe the landowners want it there - for the same reasons you do!
