THIS ONE JAMES , DON'T KNOW THE PRICE YET BUT WILL BE NORTH OF $400 . IT'S MY FAVORITE AND ULTRA RARE BUDDY. NO REEL OF COURSE..
That is a BEAUTIFUL ROD, TOOTY!!!!!!!
this is incredible!
WELL LEO never tried wd - 40 before but am going to give the old fashioned Armour all a try as a cleaner lubricant on the line. In all of my years of collecting only seen two of these translucent greens. Believe in this color combination they were only made one year. They made the model 1470 for 4 years from 54-58 or so , but in the snow white blade color the other years. Fortunately I was high bidder on both rods . ONe came from Conneticut if memory serves and the other one came from SUNNY CALIFORNIA !!!!!!! The pic on my page pics of a rod like this is the other one and now resides in my youngest sons safe . I kept this one specifically to use..
Me? Trying to outcast you? Good lord man, I can't compete that ballistic missile launching arm of yours. I've cleaned my line, add bit of dry lubricant teflon/WD40 for testing, and the furthest I shot using the 5'6" or the 6'8" with three false cast is 45' max, on either hand. But unloading a 60' line with 2 false casts, jeez!
By the way Leo I'm sure you cast just as well as me , or better!!!!! Thanks for your kind words to Chris yesterday. I was out in the yard to day and when I get home will try to do a few more video's and send em to ya to post buddy. I am NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOT the computer guru like you buddy . Believe it or not from the point of stripping line , doing two false casts, and I can lay out 60' of line when the line is clean and been strectched like it was today. GREAT LITTLE ROD AND IS 7'9" LENGTH ALSO FOR GOT TO MENTION....
Ya know what Leo, no one I guess. I have lots of others for sale right now but this one is my favorite color GREEN. I've cast lots of wonderods of course but this older generation is slightly different than say the mid 60's through early 70's rods. It has a lighter weight taper to the blank design and a little bit faster action. Just plain joy to cast and you could stand there or sit and cast all day long with out any trouble ...May just be part of my permanent collection ............
So, who's the lucky person to grab this beautiful thing off you?
Nice!
