Hey guys Thanks........Troy it is not uncommon to catch several bluegills from 14 to 20 ounces on a given trip and often all fish will be in the ten inch class or higher..........myself or someone in my party has caught a two pound fish eight of the last ten years...............what motivates me from day to day is the opportunity to catch trophy bluegill..........thanks for the kind words Gerome, I have put the time in around these parts and have recorded so much valuable information on the Albemarle that I can make a pretty good decision out of the box probably 75 percent of the time and the beauty here is success may only be a couple miles away on the same river but a different creek.........most anglers here never blink an eye at bluegill and the few that do don't always know where to go when.............I'm thankful that this jewel is in my neck of the woods for sure....
Jeffrey, congrats on such a nice catch! There is no doubt in my mind that you are blessed to be living near a great fishery but I've fished long enough to know that it takes skill to consistently catch trophy fish and brother you obviously have that talent. Your area sure looks like a place to plan a BG trophy trip!
A Gronaw bait , excellent ! Great fish Jeffrey.
Thanks Carl.......I feel blessed and made several life decisions based on these facts........I personally feel that the total numbers of "trophy" class fish is the most impressive part of Albemarle and Pamlico.........
JEFFERY;; YOUR INCREDIABLY LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A NATURAL FISHERIE !! MANY CONGRATS TO YOU ON A ABOVE EXCELLENT WATER FOR BIG BLUEGILLS !
This is when I'm living the Albemarle Dream.........these are special times here with more than 13 years without a major fish kill in this region........we are really seeing the health of the estuary in recent years..........
