Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I have always done pretty decent with the Crappie after a cold front and this afternoon was no different....

Coastal Carolina seafood, and a per diem voucher - hot damn!

Thanks Zach....they're so pretty I can't put the knife to them...I've been releasing all of them the last few weeks....A little hard to clean in a hotel room......I'm eating plenty of fresh seafood down here in S.C. since shrimp season just opened and oyster season is winding down, and I can't forget the fresh soft shell crabs and crab cakes either.....Lucky Crappie!

those are some nice dark crappie, I have the black nose crappie in my pond, which I had no idea that was what I was sold, but they sure are neat looking anyway.

Thanks David...I'm missing my boat but I'm finding enough fish to occupy me in the afternoons after work......Couldn't go yesterday on my only day off because of the coastal storm.......I had caught several Crappie on crickets last week and felt confident the minnows would produce and they did.....

Handsome fish - always impressive, Jeff.

I believe so Dick...if you look at the water in the picture it's very black and full of vegetation. Those Fliers I've caught recently are the same way....

Nice Black Crappie there Jeffrey. Looking at it I see lots of yellow hue I'm use to seeing white. Was that cause of the water you caught him in you think.

It had to be a Crappie trip today with the passing weather.......Still fun but I'm ready to sweat a little on the water! Summer time Blues!
