Do you love big bluegill?
Home Grown Jigs
My son tied these for me using hair from the sheep he raises and jigheads my Dad poured. It's similar to buck tail and it's just laying around the pasture and on the fences. It would be neat if they catch fish too. If they do we will make them a little neater.

Thanks Mike, I know what you mean I've seen bluegill hit a cigarette butt. The hair is kind of unruly but has a good action when you get it into the water.

Those will catch fish for sure!
Bluegill don't seem to be too critical when it comes to home made flies & jigs. If they were I'd probably never catch one on the flies I tie.

I got a chance to try one of these today. I rigged it under a gall float and tipped wit with a baby crawdad. This is the first fish I caught, a bluegill of about 9 inches. I was thinking the crappie might bite but just bluegill and couple bass.
