they are good to eat, and you are surprised how much meat you get off one of the small fish, they are thick for there size.

Green Sunfish (aka Black Perch in Oklahoma), my pond is full of them, but the LMB have done a good job getting the numbers down as there are not as many small ones anymore.

They make the best Flathead Bait, and if I had a way to trap them, I would work out a deal with the bait man to sell them.

What do you think would be a better deal, even swap for fatheads and shiners?

Sell them out right to them?

Provide them to the bait man and let him sell what he can and give me my cut?

It's a "Greenie" (Green Sunfish)  Have caught lots of those guys.  A super territorial fish.  You won't find more than one in a 4 foot area, unless it's spawning time,  And whatever you do, DO NOT put one of these pretty fish in your community aquarium, even if it's a tiny baby!  It will kill everyone!  Mean rascals!

Tony my gill aren't on beds yet. They were much more active last week when it was in the 70's and 80's.

I'm thinking it's a Green Sunfish with a big mouth.
