They live in the rivers and streams here and are true natives and usually small(under 12 inches) The Kentucky Spotted Bass, a non-native are moving into the same habitat and are cross breeding with and or replacing the Redeyes.
Cool ,a Redeye huh .Has the look of a Smallmouth with the bars and spots like a Kentucky Spotted Bass .
Thanks Ben. I have lived in SC for 5 years now and still haven't caught one.
Nice pictures Rick. I looked up the native range on Redeyes and the range is pretty small, only three states: SC, GA, and Alabama.
