Wow Mark I was going to make an attempt at some wooden poppers but now I see why your own bodies. Been looking all weekend and can't find wooden popper bodies anywhere. I guess I'll have to try the netcraft foam popper bodies and put a hardener of some kind on it so it will hold up. Your popper really amaze  me buddy a super job on all aspects of them.

I live in an apartment so I have to keep the dust to a minimum when I'm working on them in the winter. What I normally do is shape the poppers outside and finish them inside during the colder weather. I wish I had a shop to play around with my hobbies, tying flies, poppers, and rod building. Like I said before, Mark, those are awesome.

You're a production shop!
No wonder you have it down to such a science. Admirable

Dick, I made the bodies, I turn them on the lathe here is my set up. I will part about five of six bodies from the block some I cup out a little on the face while turning.   The ones above I cut the slanted face in them and cupped it using my rotary tool.

So Mark did you make the bodies yourself then or buy them made up already.

McSruff the airbrushes I prefer are the badger sg 100 and the paasche vjr.  Dick and Carl the material these poppers are made from is wood specifically "tupelo gum."  on other poppers I have used cedar, basswood, balsa, spruce cork, and hard and soft foam.  Tupelo is really easy to shape and makes a pretty light body.
