Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Found these cork floats at my local mom and pop outdoor shop.
They are 1" long and say "Barracuda, St. Petersburg, Florida." There is a looped cord thought the center, presumably used to pull your line through.
They will be perfect for making light bite slip floats, or used as is, fixed float style.
I'm also thinking "poppers" if cut in half.

Anyone ever seen these before?

I have seen and used corks like these many times;; back in the 70;s and 80;s!!  but they wee painted orange.  slip your line thru the loop on the float;;   then pull the tag ends;; ;; it pulls your line a bit into the cork.  they worked great!!

Keith - it would work fine. Ive also used the hollow plastic tube from cotton swabs.

Joe - in that case, I'm gonna grab all I can. Thanks for the heads ip!

The well known Florida Fishing Tackle manufacturing co. operated in St. Petersburg from the 30s to the 50s and sold  Barracuda Brand tackle. Think you have new / old stock.

I've been thinking about using a WD-40 straw for the center of slip float, these seem perfect for this. 4 lb test should slide right through it.

We think alike.
The hole is micro size, maybe .020"

How big is the hole in the center?

Cool David, I can see lots of potential there. Good natural cork.
